DRAINGUARD®-Sump

The DRAINGUAD®- Sump is a fully automated drainage system for water sumps of filter water separators. It is the preferred state of the art retrofit kit including about everything needed to generate a failsafe drainage system including the water defense functionality to shut down the flow In case of excessive water. The heart of the DRAINGUAD®- Sump is the SLUGGUARD® sensor to detect and differentiate between water and fuel. In case of water the SLUGGUARD® sensor activates the enclosed electrical drain valve. The DRAINGUAD®- Sump is including a service valve to externally check the SLUGGUARD® sensor when required (even during operation).

Automatic Air Eliminator

The pressure relief valve is necessary to ensure that the design working pressure of the vessel is not exceeded in cases of thermal expansion. Connections: Inlet/Outlet G 1/2” female. •

Mandatory accessory according to specification EI 1596 3rd edition Automatic Air Eliminator:

Permits the evacuation of air during filling and closes automatically when the vessel is full of fuel. It also allows the automatic elimination of entrained under flow conditions. If associated piping and tank heights could allow the vessel to self-drain by gravity, allowing air to enter via the air eliminator, a soft-seated non-return valve should be installed. Connections: Inlet 3/4” BSPT female, outlet 1/2” BSPT female.

Sensor Technology

DP-Switch

The DP-Switch has been designed to automatically stop the refuelling process when the maximum permitted differential pressure for filter elements is reached. DP-Switch is designed for connection to a mechanical differential pressure gauge that measures the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of a filter vessel in safety-critical applications. The switching pressure is set to 1 bar (15 psi) and designed to stop the refuelling process automatically. It is suitable for competitive exchange and easy to retrofit. The DP-Switch is conform with JIG Bulletins No. 58, 105 & 111.

Electronic Water Sensor / SLUGGUARD®

Electronic sensor to distinguish between aviation fuel and water. The SLUGGUARD® enables continuous detection of water in sumps of filter/water separators or in drain points of filter vessels. The highprecision switch is also suitable for small filter housings (FBO) in the general aviation area. A blue LED light indicates operating or alarm switching states. An alarm condition is being activated in response to a bulk quantity of free water in the line.

WTS Water Treatment System

The intended use of the Water Treatment System WTS is the recovery of collected water being contaminated with solid particulates and fuel (oil) that will need to be separated from the water before it can be discharged to surface water drains. The WTS provides the capability to pump the collected water from the contaminated area into a system that separates any oil and solid particulates from the water. WTS is been ATEX approved for operation within a zone 2 hazardous area (minimum requirement) and therefore compliant with the ATEX directive. The WTS has been designed for simple operation and calibration. It incorporates a calibrated oil/alarm/monitor that controls the separation process. This monitors the oil ppm content in the treated water and only permit discharge if the oil ppm content is below the alarm level. If the oil content in the treated water is greater than Alarm level then the discharge will be stopped and the treated water returned to the contaminated area retained for further treatment. The control system provides the user with clear information on the quality of the water being discharged from the system. This information is been displayed in terms of ppm of oil in the water. If the discharged water is introduced into the seas, strict directives require special attention. Depending on area, different oil content limits must be complied with. If PW or bilge water is to be introduced into the seas, the residual oil content must not exceed a concentration of 15 to 40 ppm on average, depending on area. Other inland applications require much harder limits (e.g. 5 ppm).

Logic Controller / Contamination Control System (CCS) gold

Fully automatic touchscreen controller for use in combination with an EI 1598 electronic water sensor, e.g. AFGUARD®. The Contamination Control System (CCS) provides an easy to use interface that is constantly processing the actual water content in aviation fuels. The CCS is designed to process a warning/alarm signal if free water reaches a critical level. The logic controller is compliant to JIG Technical Bulletin No. 110 regarding alert, alarm and data storage requirements. There are two versions of the CCS available, entitled gold or silver version depending on the requirement. The CCS gold has a configurable colour touch screen that can display the actual water content. Connected to a flashing lamp it will provide an alert through sensor measurings. The CCS silver version is designed to be integrated into third party PLCs that are AFGUARD®-ready, and fully configurable to customer needs.

Logic Controller / DPGUARD

System for automatic calculation of corrected differential pressure measurement in refuelling applications. The DPGUARD® provides an easy to use interface that is constantly monitoring the condition of the filter elements. There are two versions of the DPGUARD® available, entitled gold or silver version depending on the requirement. The DPGUARD® gold has a configurable colour touch screen which can display the flow rate, the actual DP and the corrected DP. The DPGUARD® silver is often preferred in situation where a third-party system will display the information generated by DPGUARD®.

C Series

DV Centrifugal gas separator

The DV series consists of a vertical cylinder vessel with inlet and outlet connections located tangentially. The automatic float controlled air vent valve is located at the highest point. The sight glass on the valve housing provides for monitoring of air release process. The vessel is made in carbon steel. The gas separator must be mounted immediately upstream the flowmeter in accordance with the Weight and Measures standards.

Strainer series FA

Putting together in a single device filtering and air elimination, results in a more compact device reducing the size of the group. In specific applications in which only filtration is required, i.e. when viscosity of the fluid is higher than 20 mPa.s @20°C, the FA series of strainer is available. The large filtering surface, in relation to the input /output section ratio of the fluid, means low pressure loss and the mean time between net cleaning becomes really long. The choice of the basket strainer must take into consideration the characteristics of the fluid. We suggest 100 mesh for gasoline, 60 mesh for diesel fuel and 40 mesh for fuel oil.

FFM(I) Series

FFM(I) Series filter monitors are designed to be compliant with procedural guidelines and requirements of the pressure vessel regulation AD 2000. Additional pressure vessel standards can be met with these assemblies as well. Filter monitors are intended for use in aviation fuels to remove low levels of dirt and absorb low levels of free water at refuellers, hydrant dispensers and other mobile refuelling equipment.
Note: Specification EI 1583 will be withdrawn by no later than 31st December 2020.
